The Children’s Ministry at Sherwood Baptist Church provides an atmosphere in which every child feels loved and valued. With our teachings always geared toward the child’s age and comprehension level, we lay the foundation for having a genuine relationship with Christ. We help the child grow in knowledge and understanding of that relationship through Bible training and simple practice of Christian principles. Our goal is to assist parents in raising children who love God and seek to live effective lives for Him.
Every week we strive to help kids develop spiritually in a fun and safe environment. In Sunday School, kids are taught the Bible in a relevant and creative style, and relationships are developed with leaders and friends. Classes are divided according to grades and include K, 1st & 2nd, 3rd & 4th, and 5th & 6th. A children's sermon is offered during our morning worship service and then children in grades K - 3rd are dismissed to Children’s Church. During Discipleship on Sunday evenings, children participate in Music, Puppets, Prayer & Praise during "MP3". During the school year on Wednesday evenings AWANA Clubs offer students opportunities to grow in God's word and have fun participating in hands-on learning experiences.
A different activity is held each month and includes things such as VBS, Fall Festival, Water Games, Easter-Egg Hunt, etc.

- May 1st: AWANA Jump Zone Party
- May 5th: AWANA's last night (AWANA Store will be open)
- Wednesday children program will continue throughout the summer from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm.
